Change plan: fix a plan in your own words

When a plan is close but not right, don't start over. Tell CodeStilt what to change.

Plans are where you stay in control. Sometimes a plan is almost right: it touches one file too many, or it picked a different approach than you wanted. That's what Change plan is for.

How it works

On a plan that is waiting for you, click Change plan and write what you want different, for example Don't touch the header, only the footer or Use the existing formatDate helper instead of adding a library. A new plan is written from scratch with your note. Nothing on your computer changes until you approve.

Why not just start a new task?

Change plan keeps the task, its history and its context together. Your note goes with the original request, so the new plan understands both.

The file list is a promise

Whatever plan you approve, its file list becomes the scope lock. If the AI later tries to change a file that isn't on the list, the desktop app refuses it and the task page shows how many changes were ignored.
